Description

If you’re wearing multiple hats in a small nursing home, you know just how critical and complex the social services role can be. Our week-long Social Services Designee Training is designed specifically for professionals like you, providing the knowledge, confidence, and practical tools needed to succeed in this essential position. Whether you’re new to the role or looking to strengthen your expertise, this course offers a comprehensive foundation to help you navigate the unique challenges of serving residents in a long-term care setting.

Throughout the training, you’ll gain a clear understanding of your roles and responsibilities as a Social Services Director, learn how to effectively collaborate with your interdisciplinary team, and build skills in developing and implementing meaningful, person-centered care plans. We’ll also dive into strategies for addressing residents’ emotional, psychological, and social needs, while helping you confidently interpret and apply state and federal regulations. Designed for facilities under 120 beds, this course meets required training standards and equips you to make a lasting impact for both your residents and your organization.

This course is APPROVED by the state of Nebraska department of Public Health to meet the regulatory requirement for nursing homes under 120 beds for the role of social service designee.

Time: This course is 39 hours in length and is divided into seven modules. Training will be approximately 8 hours each day, Monday-Friday. 

Format: The course will be presented live & in-person in Lincoln. Participants will be able to view recordings of the presentation and complete the required competency evaluations.

Continuing Education: 39 hours of continuing education from Nebraska DHHS Regulation and Licensure, Board of NHA has been approved for this series. Appropriate records will be maintained for other disciplines to receive credit from their credentialing organizations. There is a possibility that a limited number of nursing hours may be available, approval pending.

What's Included: Registration includes handouts, instructions for receiving CE credit/attendance certificate, and recordings of each module. Attendees will also receive a competency evaluation and record of attendance and completion for regulatory purposes.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: No refunds will be given for cancellations. Substitutions will be accepted. However, if you cannot attend due to circumstances out of your control (such as exposure to/testing positive for COVID-19, a death in the family, or state surveyors in your community during the event) and no substitute is available, a credit will be issued for you to use at a future LeadingAge Nebraska event. 

Hotel: We have a small block of rooms reserved at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Lincoln South (where the event is held). $99.00/night for a King + Pullout Sofa or Double King.
